The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) had a roller coaster year in 2016. It made headlines with significant enforcement actions, controversial rule proposals, and a significant court loss that held the bureau's structure unconstitutional. This meeting we will discuss what we can likely expect from the CFPB in 2017 under the new Trump administration. Some of the topics covered will include an overview of the CFPB's significant enforcement actions from 2016 and how those may provide guidance for future enforcement actions, likely rule-making in 2017, and how the Republicans and Trump administration may impact the CFPB going forward.

Highlights:

  • Overview of significant enforcement actions from the CFPB in 2016

  • What to expect from the CFPB in 2017

  • How the new administration may impact the CFPB
